I don't know about you but I don't read my Bible enough, neither do I know or understand it as I should.

But I have discovered the Deovox web site where you can download Bible readings connecting Biblical truths to the way we live our lives.

The audio files are free and you don't have to sign up to anything. You can download the audio files and listen to them on your pc or transfer them to an MP3 player to listen to them on the go.

Faith Matters

Some definitions of "Faith".

1. Knowing that something is true without proof.
2. Belief and trust in God's promises.
3. A feeling or belief, that something is true, real, or will happen.
4. A trust in the intentions or abilities of a person or object.

A couple of things the Bible says about Faith.

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
Mark 2:4-5

One Lord, one faith, one baptism.
Ephesians 4:4-6

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1-3

What does it mean to be a Christian?

To be a Christian is to have a relationship with God (this was made possible by Jesus' death on the cross and his resurrection) and, in common with other Christians in the church, to work on that relationship and to follow the way that Jesus taught.

For Christians God is understood and known as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

…Father… God is love, caring for creation and for every human being as God's beloved child.

…Son… God is as he has revealed himself to be in the historical person of Jesus Christ. Jesus' life, death and resurrection holds the key to knowing and loving God, and to making sense of life, before and after death.

…and Holy Spirit… God is alive, loving and active today, inspiring faith, justice and truth, sustaining the life of the world, giving spiritual gifts to the church and bearing his spiritual fruit in the world - changing lives and a transforming society.
